The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) has launched an investigation into the distribution of the 2024 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Principles of Accounts Paper 02.
This move comes in response to concerns raised about irregularities at specific examination centers.In an official statement, CXC assured candidates and parents that the situation is being addressed with the utmost urgency. The Council committed to taking appropriate actions upon the conclusion of the investigation to ensure the integrity of the examination process.
This development follows closely on the heels of the CXC’s response to circulating social media rumors about an alleged examination paper leak. The Barbados-based CXC categorically dismissed these claims as hoaxes.
The regional exam body expressed its strong disapproval of attempts to spread false information, which it stated could cause unnecessary panic among candidates.The CXC’s statement read, “CXC frowns upon attempts by persons to spread false information and create panic for candidates preparing for examinations. News and updates from CXC can be found on our website cxc.org and official social media pages.
”Furthermore, the Council highlighted the severe penalties for obtaining examination question papers or related materials beforehand, including cancellation of results, disqualification, and debarment. CXC urged candidates and their families to be vigilant and to rely solely on official communications from the CXC for accurate information regarding the examinations.
