In a bid to combat youth crime, the Pan against Crime Committee (PAC) will donate steel pans to St. Clair Dacon Secondary School this Friday. The handover ceremony, organized in collaboration with the National Commission on Crime Prevention (NCCP), the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), and the Ministry of National Security, is set to take place at 1:00 P.M. on the school grounds.T
he event will feature remarks from several notable figures, including Hon. Frederick Stephenson, Minister of the Public Service, Consumer Affairs, and Sports, and Parliamentary Representative for South Windward.
Ms. Lou-Anne Thomas, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, Ms. Eve Knights, and Mrs. Kay Martin-Jack, Chief Education Officer in the Ministry of Education and National Reconciliation, will also address attendees.The Pan against Crime Initiative, launched on February 20, 2008, by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, aims to divert young people from criminal activities by engaging them in music. The program has been instrumental in providing positive outlets for youth, fostering community cohesion, and reducing crime rates.
Entertainment for the ceremony will be provided by the Genesis Steel Orchestra, adding a celebratory note to the occasion.The community eagerly anticipates this event, reflecting a collective effort to nurture a safer and more harmonious society through the power of music.
