In a stunning display of talent and determination, Divyne ‘Skye’ Hackshaw from Argyle Roman Catholic School claimed the coveted title of Junior Calypso Monarch. Her triumph at the Primary School Junior Calypso Monarch competition, held at Russell’s Auditorium following a venue change, showcased Hackshaw’s profound musical prowess and heartfelt lyricism.

Performing her winning composition, “Answer my Prayer”, Hackshaw not only impressed judges but also resonated deeply with the audience. This victory follows her earlier success, where she garnered attention for her rendition at the Primary Schools Performing Arts Festival, earning accolades such as the ‘Most Senior Song’ award.

Hackshaw’s journey to the top spot in the competition underscores her rising prominence in the performing arts scene. Her ability to tackle meaningful themes through music, coupled with a voice that commands attention, sets her apart as a talent to watch. As she continues to hone her craft and inspire others, Hackshaw exemplifies the power of youth in shaping the cultural landscape and addressing pressing societal issues through artistic expression.
