Kingstown, July 24, 2024 – The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) is conducting an intensive investigation following a tragic shooting incident in the McKies Hill/Level Gardens area that left one man dead and a woman seriously injured.

The incident unfolded at approximately 5:30 PM on July 23, 2024. Romario Bynoe, a 28-year-old resident of Argyle, known by the alias “Stormy,” was involved in a motor vehicle accident in the McKies Hill/Level Gardens vicinity. While awaiting assistance, Bynoe was approached by an unknown assailant who opened fire, shooting him multiple times. Bynoe was pronounced dead at the scene by the District Medical Officer.

During the assault, a 40-year-old woman from Layou was also struck by gunfire, sustaining multiple injuries to her legs and back. She was quickly transported to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, where she is receiving urgent medical treatment. Remarkably, a 9-year-old child who was present at the scene escaped unharmed.

Police officers responded promptly and have initiated a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend the shooter. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the precise cause of Bynoe’s death.

The RSVGPF is appealing to the public for any information that could aid in the swift capture of the perpetrator. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact:

    • Police Emergency: 999/911
    • Police Control: (784) 457-1211
    • Criminal Investigations Department / Major Crimes Unit: (784) 456-1810

The RSVGPF extends heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Romario Bynoe and wishes the injured woman a rapid recovery. The police force remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding law and order, ensuring the safety and security of all citizens and residents of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
