KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Arena Foy, the reigning Miss SVG 2023, is currently enhancing her expertise in Taipei, Taiwan, through a prestigious four-week beauty industry course sponsored by the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (Taiwan ICDF). This groundbreaking initiative underscores the robust ties between the Beauty Shows Committee and the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan), marking the first time a reigning queen from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has been afforded such an opportunity.

Ms. Foy, known professionally as Rena Slays and the owner of the acclaimed makeup studio “Slaya’s Place,” is immersing herself in advanced training that encompasses entrepreneurship, personal beauty, styling, and special effects makeup. The program emphasizes hands-on practice with industry leaders, equipping her with cutting-edge skills and techniques.

Expressing her gratitude, Ms. Foy highlighted the transformative impact of this opportunity on her professional growth and the broader beauty industry in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Upon her return on August 9, 2024, she is set to share her newfound knowledge as a seed instructor, fostering opportunities for fellow Vincentians to thrive in the beauty sector.

Ms. Foy’s return will also see her resuming her duties and preparations for the highly anticipated Miss SVG pageant, scheduled for October 5, 2024.
