VINLEC Announces Estimated Billing for July 2024 Amid Hurricane Beryl’s Disruptions

Kingstown, St. Vincent – St Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) has announced that due to the widespread disruptions caused by Hurricane Beryl, electricity billing for July 2024 will be based on estimated readings. The company has set the fuel surcharge rate for the month at 64.51 cents.

The hurricane’s impact has significantly hindered the ability to read all electricity meters accurately. As a result, VINLEC has had to rely on estimated billing for most customers. The company assures its valued customers that all efforts will be made to reconcile any discrepancies between the estimated and actual usage in the bills issued for August.

In a gesture of goodwill, VINLEC has announced that all charges for July 2024 will be waived for customers in the Southern Grenadines, including Canouan, Mayreau, and Union Island, who were particularly affected by the hurricane’s aftermath.

VINLEC appreciates the understanding and cooperation of its customers during this challenging period and remains committed to restoring full services as quickly as possible.
