On Friday, August 2nd, 2024, beer enthusiasts around the globe will come together to celebrate International Beer Day, and St. Vincent Brewery Limited, the proud brewers of Hairoun beer, is gearing up to join the festivities. This annual event, observed on the first Friday of August, was first celebrated in the United States in 2007. Since then, it has grown into a worldwide occasion, recognized across six continents, 60 countries, and 210 cities, celebrating the cultural and historical significance of beer.
This year’s theme highlights the important role beer plays in bringing communities together. “International Beer Day is more than just an occasion to enjoy a cold beer,” said Ms. Monique Bailey, Brewer and Quality Manager at St. Vincent Brewery Limited. With 17 years in the beer industry, Bailey’s passion for brewing shines through. Starting her career as a lab technician and later training at the University of California, she has earned her “Brewer” title and is now a proud advocate for the St. Vincent Brewery team. “It’s a celebration of the cultural and historical significance of beer, a beverage that has been enjoyed for thousands of years worldwide. This day allows us to recognize the passion we have for brewing, producing, bottling, and selling our beer, while connecting with our colleagues, friends, and communities through a shared appreciation of beer,” she explained.
Kimon Baptiste, PR & Media Analyst for the brewery, echoed Bailey’s sentiments. “With such a quality product as Hairoun beer in our portfolio, it is no wonder that our company mission focuses on Building a Future with More Cheers,” he said. “St. Vincent Brewery will be doing just that for International Beer Day 2024!”
In celebration of this special day, St. Vincent Brewery has planned several activities for their employees at the plant. In line with the 2024 theme, they are also extending the celebration to the wider community. The brewery invites the public to visit select locations across St. Vincent and the Grenadines and enjoy a Hairoun beer, courtesy of the brewery. As Baptiste puts it, “Beer tastes better when it is bought by a friend.”
To find out more about the locations and timings for these events, members of the public are encouraged to follow the Hairoun social media pages.
