Kingstown, August 7, 2024 – The Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) has announced changes to the 2024 Carnival calendar following disruptions caused by Hurricane Beryl. Among the events affected was the Junior Panorama, which did not take place on its originally scheduled date.

While the Dimanche Gras show proceeded as planned, the King and Queen of The Bands competition faced postponements due to challenges within the Mas fraternity. Instead, the Sections of The Bands competition was held on that date.

In celebration of World Steel Pan Day on Sunday, August 11th, the CDC and the Youlou Pan Movement will host both the rescheduled Junior Panorama and the King and Queen of The Bands competitions. The day’s festivities will kick off at 10:00 am with a Kiddies Fair, running throughout the day. The Junior Panorama competition will start at 2:00 pm, followed by the King and Queen competition at 7:00 pm.

Eleven Junior Steel bands and eighteen participants in the King and Queen of The Bands categories are set to compete. The CDC encourages all to attend and support the participants. Patrons with tickets to the original Junior Panorama show should note that their tickets will be valid for the rescheduled event.

For further details, contact the Carnival Development Corporation at (784) 451-5560 or visit their website at www.carnivalsvg.com.
