The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF) is excited to announce the appointment of Ezra Hendrickson as the new Head Coach of our national football team. A distinguished Vincentian native, Hendrickson brings a wealth of experience from his extensive playing and coaching career, both in Major League Soccer (MLS) and internationally.
Hendrickson’s illustrious playing career began in 1997 with the New York MetroStars, and he went on to play for prominent teams like LA Galaxy, Dallas Burn, D.C. United, Chivas USA, and Columbus Crew. Over his 12 seasons in MLS, he won eight major trophies, including three MLS Cups and three MLS Supporters’ Shields [❞] [❞].
Transitioning to coaching, Hendrickson started as an assistant coach with Seattle Sounders FC, where he contributed to four Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup titles and an MLS Supporters’ Shield victory [❞]. He further honed his coaching skills as an assistant with the LA Galaxy and Columbus Crew, where he helped secure the 2020 MLS Cup [❞] [❞]. In November 2021, he was appointed head coach of Chicago Fire FC [❞].
Hendrickson holds a U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) “Pro” License, emphasizing his dedication to coaching excellence [❞]. His appointment marks a pivotal moment for football in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, with the SVGFF confident that under his leadership, the national team will reach new heights. Hendrickson’s strategic acumen and passion for developing young talent make him an ideal leader to guide our athletes towards success.
