Parishioners at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Cane End, Mesopotamia, received a much-needed respite from the heat, thanks to the generosity of Mr. Stephen Da Silva, Owner and Managing Director of Memorial Funeral Home. On Friday, August 2nd, 2024, Mr. Da Silva’s team, represented by Manager Asbert Williams donated a water dispenser and two filled bottles of water to the church. This gesture is part of Memorial Funeral Home’s broader commitment to giving back to the community. In addition to their support for the church, the funeral home has been actively reaching out to elderly shut-ins in various communities, providing them with essential items and support every week. Furthermore, Memorial Funeral Home has extended its generosity by offering free funeral services to families who lost loved ones during the passage of Hurricane Bereyll This compassionate initiative has brought much-needed relief to those affected by the disaster.

Monsignor Stewart and the church community expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Da Silva and his team, recognizing the critical role that Memorial Funeral Home plays in supporting the well-being of the community. The church also offered prayers for continued blessings upon the funeral home and its staff, acknowledging their ongoing contributions to the people of Mesopotamia and beyond.
