The St. Vincent Brewery (SVBL) hosted a special “THANK YOU lime” on August 16 at Mill Rawacou, celebrating the dedication and hard work of over 535 specially invited guests from St. Vincent Electricity Services (VINLEC), Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA), and the Roads, Buildings & General Services Authority (BRAGSA). These utility workers were recognized for their swift and skillful efforts in restoring essential services to mainland St. Vincent following the significant damage caused by Category 4 Hurricane Beryl in July.

Country Manager Shafia London expressed her deep appreciation for the silent, often unrecognized work of these teams, emphasizing their essential role in bringing the country back to normalcy in record time. The event, filled with music and joy, was a public acknowledgment of the sacrifice and long hours put in by the utility staff.

Makalya Forde of CWSA and Jewelle Cordice of VINLEC echoed the sentiments of gratitude, noting how the event made them feel valued and recognized. Forde highlighted the importance of such appreciation after the intense pressure of post-hurricane restoration work, while Cordice saw the gathering as a symbol of unity and strength in the country.

SVBL also extended thanks to other corporate partners, including The Mill, ECGC, Randy’s Supermarket, and C.K Greaves, for their support in making the event a success. However, some staff members from the utility companies were unable to attend as they continued rehabilitation efforts in the Grenadines.
