The much-anticipated opening of the Holiday Inn has been brought forward and will now be opened on November 16.

This is a change from the original opening date of November 19 was had been previously announced.

Montgomery Daniel speaking in the capacity as Prime Minister (Ag) said on radio on November 13 that due to some ‘unforeseen circumstances’, the opening date had to be changed.

The original date was set for November 19, but that date had to be reviewed, and it was subsequently changed to the 16th.

The facility which is located at Diamond will officially be opened for business on November 22, Daniel said.

And it had been reported that the 93 rooms at the hotel have been booked, partly due to the series of T20 cricket matches expected to be played at the Arnos Vale Playing Field during the upcoming Bangladesh tour of the Caribbean in December.

“We are happy that we are where we are at this time,” he added.

The project makes the Holiday Inn the second private-public hotel partnership in the country, after Cobblestone Inn.

The contract was signed to being construction back in 2022 with funding made possible via a grant from the Caribbean Development Fund and an investment made by the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines amounting to EC$52 million.
