April 20, 2025 – Kingstown: The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Layou on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
Police responded to a report of a shooting in the Layou area. On arrival, officers met the unresponsive body of a male with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. The deceased was subsequently identified as Mr. Oranson Garraway, a 33-year-old labourer of Layou.
The body was pronounced dead at the scene. The Crime Scene Unit later arrived, processed the area, and collected several items of evidential value. Authorization was granted for the removal of the body.
A postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
The RSVGPF is appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have any relevant information to contact the Criminal Investigations Department/Major Crimes Unit at 1-784-456-1810 or the nearest police station. All information will be treated with strict confidence.
The RSVGPF extends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.
