Grenadian National FINED EC $500 for Immigration Offences
Kingstown, April 25, 2025 – The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has charged Roger Johnson, a Grenadian national, for breaching the country’s immigration laws.
Preliminary investigations revealed that between February 1 and February 28, 2025, Johnson unlawfully entered Saint Vincent and the Grenadines under the following circumstances:
He entered the state other than at a port of entry, contrary to Section 10(1) of the Immigration (Restriction) Act, Chapter 114 of the Revised Laws of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, 2009.
He entered by boat and disembarked without the consent of an immigration officer, in violation of Section 10(2) of the same Act.
On April 23, 2025, Johnson appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court and pleaded guilty to both charges. He was fined EC$280 for entering other than at a port of entry, payable forthwith. In default, he will serve three months at His Majesty’s Prison. For the second offence, he was fined EC$220, payable by April 24, 2025. Failure to pay will result in a concurrent three-month prison sentence.
A removal order was also issued for his deportation from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The RSVGPF reminds the public and all visitors that compliance with immigration regulations is essential to the safety and sovereignty of the state. Persons entering the country must do so through designated ports of entry and in accordance with the law.
