Authorities have filed additional charges in the case surrounding the death of 26-year-old Michael Richards, also known as “Boxer,” a laborer from Glen. On April 23, 2025, police formally charged Laurent Isidore, 26, a native of St. Lucia residing in Gibson Corner, and Keon Hackshaw, 17, of Ottley Hall, with murder.
Isidore and Hackshaw were already on remand at His Majesty’s Prison after being jointly charged with attempted murder. The new charge alleges that the two, with malice aforethought, shot Richards multiple times on April 1, 2025, in Kingstown. Richards succumbed to his injuries on April 17 while hospitalized.
A post-mortem examination conducted on April 22 confirmed that Richards died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
The accused men appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on April 24. Due to the indictable nature of the charge, they were not allowed to enter a plea. The matter has been adjourned and transferred to the Serious Offences Court, where the accused are scheduled to be arraigned on May 12, 2025.
