    According to official investigations, Kyla Chaz Patrick, a 24-year-old Labourer, was reportedly seen operating motor vehicle H5353 on two separate occasions—May 2 and May 6, 2025—along the Georgetown Public Road. At the time, Patrick was not the holder of a valid driver’s permit, and the vehicle had no insurance policy in force to cover third-party risk.

    As a result, Patrick was charged with the following offences:

    Driving without being the holder of a driver’s permit;

    Driving without there being in force a policy of insurance in respect of third-party risk.

    Further inquiries led to charges against the vehicle’s owner, Alt Campbell, a 36-year-old Police Officer. Investigators allege that Campbell knowingly permitted Patrick to operate the vehicle in violation of the law. He was subsequently charged with:

    Aiding and abetting a person to drive without a driver’s permit;

    Permitting the use of a motor vehicle without valid insurance coverage.

    Both accused were granted station bail: Patrick in the sum of EC$1,500.00 with one surety, and Campbell in the sum of EC$800.00 with one surety. They are scheduled to appear before the Georgetown Magistrate Court on May 12, 2025, to answer the charges.

    The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force is urging the public to comply with road traffic laws. Authorities emphasize that it is an offence to operate—or permit the operation of—a motor vehicle on a public road without the required documentation. These laws are strictly enforced to safeguard lives and promote road safety for all users.
