Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Trevor Bailey revealed during a press conference on Monday, May 26th, that his life was recently threatened while conducting investigations into the triple homicide that occurred over a week ago in Belmont.
Despite the threat, ACP Bailey made it clear that such intimidation tactics will not interfere with the work of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force. “To the person who made the call—you just wasted your credit,” he said firmly. “That won’t deter me from doing my job. Our role in the police force is to investigate and fight crime. No threat will stop us from doing that.”
Bailey was addressing the media as part of an update on multiple murders reported over the past two weeks, including the Belmont triple murder for which Kesron Ryan has been arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder.
An update was also provided on the murder investigation of Steven King, a resident of Green Hill who was shot and killed at his home on Tuesday, May 21st. ACP Bailey stated that the investigation is “coming along nicely” and assured King’s family that, as always, a thorough investigation will be carried out. The same investigative team handling the Belmont case is also working on the Green Hill murder.
In relation to the murder of Denzil Harry of Vermont, Bailey disclosed that police are seeking a woman of interest who was last seen with Harry before he was fatally shot. He is appealing to anyone with relevant information to contact the police immediately.
A brief update was also provided on the recent incident in Lauders where a teenager reportedly shot himself on Sunday. Preliminary investigations suggest the teenager intended to harm himself. ANN has been reliably informed that the firearm involved is a licensed weapon belonging to a well-known videographer/photographer who is currently out of the state.
The police continue to appeal to the public for cooperation and information that may assist in solving these ongoing investigations.
