President of the Calypso Association, Mr. Earl Bennett, has expressed satisfaction with the overall quality of calypso performances for the 2025 season. According to Mr. Bennett, there has been noticeable improvement among the majority of calypsonians, particularly in lyrical content, melody, and musical arrangement.

However, Mr. Bennett voiced concern about the low audience turnout at calypso tents thus far. He is encouraging the public to show greater support, especially during the final week of judging when calypsonians are being evaluated by the panel.

The Dynamite Tent faced the judges on Saturday night, while the Upstage Tent will be judged on Wednesday, June 11th. The Ontour Tent follows on Thursday, June 12th, and the Graduates Tent will face the judges on Friday, June 13th.

The Calypso Semifinals are scheduled for Sunday, June 29th, in a highly anticipated show titled “An Evening with the Legends.” A total of twenty-two calypsonians will be selected to compete for a coveted spot in the Finals, where they will attempt to dethrone reigning monarch Reaon “Madzart” Primus on Dimanche Gras night.
