The Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) has confirmed that street bars will return to round-the-clock operation for Vincy Mas 2025. This major update was announced by the new CEO of the CDC, Mr. Rodney Small, during a press conference held earlier today.
Mr. Small revealed several key time changes for the 2025 carnival celebrations, highlighting CDC’s ongoing collaboration with the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force. Among the changes:
Street bars will now be allowed to operate from 5:00 p.m., an earlier start than the previous 9:00 p.m. restriction.
On Carnival Monday, revelers will be allowed on the streets until midnight, while Carnival Tuesday activities must wrap up by 10:00 p.m.
Jouvert morning will be split into two time segments:
2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. will be designated for traditional Jouvert, featuring steel bands, monkey bands, and other cultural elements.
From 6:00 a.m. onward, paint bands will take over the streets.
Mr. Small also clarified that the CDC is not in the business of banning any private promoter events, but encouraged promoters who have not yet applied for event approval to do so as soon as possible.
These changes aim to enhance the overall experience of Vincy Mas 2025 while maintaining public safety and preserving cultural traditions.
