Commissioner of Police Mr. Enville Williams is sending a clear warning to private promoters ahead of Vincy Mas 2025: get your affairs in order or risk being denied permission to play amplified music at your events.
Speaking at a press conference earlier today, Commissioner Williams emphasized that no promoter will receive approval without first securing a certificate of compliance from the Inland Revenue Department.
“Let me say it slowly: no permission will be granted without that certificate from the Inland Revenue Department,” the Commissioner stressed. “I don’t know what yardstick they use to measure your event – no certificate, no permission.”
The Commissioner’s comments come as law enforcement continues efforts to ensure greater accountability and order during the country’s premier cultural celebration.
In addition to the tax compliance requirement, Commissioner Williams threw his full support behind Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Christopher Benjamin regarding the strict enforcement of the no-bottle policy at events. This policy aims to enhance public safety by preventing injuries and disorder linked to glass bottles.
With the festival season approaching, the RSVGPF is making it clear: regulations will be enforced, and promoters must adhere to all requirements to keep the revelry safe and lawful.
