    11 Calypsonians Named for Vincy Mas 2025 Calypso Monarch FinalsFinal showdown set for July 6th at Victoria Park

    Eleven of the nation’s finest calypsonians are preparing to do lyrical battle in the Calypso Monarch Finals of Vincy Mas 2025, as they set their sights on dethroning reigning monarch Raeon “Madzart” Primus.

    The Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) released the official list of finalists following a competitive semi-final round, which showcased strong performances across the board.

    The contenders heading to the grand stage at Victoria Park on Sunday, July 6th at 8:00 p.m. are:

    1. Lornette “Fya Empress” Nedd – Children of the Drum

    2. Alvin “Zion-I” Dennie – We Know Who You Mean

    3. Dereck “Man Sick” Alexander – Nothing Good to Say

    4. Shaunelle McKenzie – Ghetto Mentality

    5. Maxwell “Tajoe” Francis – Change for What!

    6. Zamfir “Zangie” Adams – My Nation

    7. Bernard “Reality I” White – Heart Beat

    8. Shena Collis – Our Nation’s Cry

    9. Marvo “Marvelous Marvo” Morgan – Calypso Ah Singing

    10. Dennis Bowman – Plenty More to Come

    11. Johnny “Johnny Rebel” Hall – The Judiciary

    Named as reserve is Robert “Patches” Knights, with Fake News.

    This year’s finalists will bring strong social commentary, political critique, and cultural pride to the stage as they aim to unseat Madzart, who captured the crown in 2024 with a commanding performance that blended wit, message, and melody.

    Ahead of the final showdown, all selected calypsonians and a representative from the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Band are required to attend a meeting this evening, Monday, June 30th, at 6:00 p.m. at the CDC’s Conference Room.

    The Calypso Monarch competition is one of the most celebrated events of Vincy Mas, showcasing the power of the art form to entertain, educate, and provoke thought—while reflecting the heartbeat of the nation.
