A close family member of the late Don Jackson says his death was sadly not unexpected, pointing to years of violent disputes and death threats between the father and his son.

“Over the years, they were always going at it and threatening to kill each other. Honestly, we expected something like this to happen eventually,” the family member told Asberth News Network.

Another community source confirmed long-standing tensions between the two, revealing that Jackson had allegedly inflicted chop wounds on his son during a previous altercation.

    > “It’s a sad situation,” she added. “But they were always threatening to kill each other.”

The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) is now investigating the matter as a homicide.

According to police, the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Friday during a domestic dispute involving Jackson’s sons. Jackson, a 60-year-old farmer of Yambou, reportedly intervened in the conflict and was struck to the side of his face with an object. He was transported to the Levi Latham Health Centre, where he was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

Police from the South Central Division processed the crime scene and collected evidence. A male suspect, described as a close relative of the deceased, is in custody assisting with the investigation.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

The RSVGPF is appealing to anyone with information that can assist the investigation to come forward. Contact the police using any of the following numbers:
