An Arnos Vale man who was recently caught riding an unregistered motorcycle and using a fraudulent Identification Mark, narrowly escaped prison time when he appeared in Court last week. Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne told the defendant, Macatulio Findlay, that the only reason she was not sending him to prison was because it was his first offence. Findlay also received a one-third discount on his sentence for his early guilty plea. It was reported in THE VINCENTIAN newspaper of 21st April 2023, that St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) will increase the Fuel Surcharge rate applicable on bills for April 2023 up to $0.6906 per kWh, which is an increase of $0.17 from the previous month’s rate of $0.5245 per kWh. Sergeant 444 Kenny Jones, the second-in-command of the Traffic Department of the RSVG Police Force, is recommending a point system to deal with reckless drivers. Jones made the recommendation last week Wednesday during the appearance of several persons on traffic charges, including reckless driving.
