After a two-year hiatus, The Headstart Pre- School hosted their independence celebrations on Wednesday 26th October, 2022 at the school’s premises in Villa/Fountain road. The exhibition featured an impressive array of local goods from St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The students were all dressed in their national attire and took pride in wearing the national colours. A Bill for an Act to establish a Medical Laboratories Council was passed in the House of Assembly on Tuesday October 25, 2022. This new legislation will regulate the licensing and monitoring of medical laboratories to ensure medical labs meet international standards and can provide reliable, accurate information to those who use the services. As of Monday 31st, of October, gasoline at the pumps will be reduced by $2.10 per gallon and diesel by $1.00 per gallon. St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) is now the second Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL) member state to introduce new legislation governing the telecommunications sector. This follows the safe passage of the Electronic Communications Bill during the 12th sitting of the House of Assembly on Tuesday October 24th, 2022. Police constable Jason Adams, attached to the local constabulary was cleared of an attempted rape charge on Monday, after the virtual complainant informed the High Court that she had chosen not to proceed with the matter. When crown counsel Kaylia Toney asked the complainant whether she was beaten, threatened, or promised anything to come to that decision, she said no.
