Officials confirmed with ANN at 7:27 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2022, that 5 people have died as a result of an accident that occurred at Old Sandy Bay today. Four people died on the spot while the other died at the Accident and Emergency section at the Georgetown hospital. Another person is in critical condition with a severe head injury. Reports are that mini bus – H8190 was transporting passengers from Clare Valley, South Leeward, to a funeral at Owia, North Windward when it overturned in Old Sandy Bay. Dead is Matthew Charles of Mala Village, Sion hill in East Kingstown Charles was shot multiple times according to reports. One source told ANN that they heard about six shots at about 1: 30 am on Saturday. Villagers discovered the body and contacted the police who are now investigating.
