Former Wimbledon champion Boris Becker has been jailed for two and a half years for hiding £2.5m worth of assets and loans to avoid paying debts. The 54-year-old six-time Grand Slam champion was found guilty of four charges under the Insolvency Act. Zipporah John, 32-year-old housekeeper residing at Ashton, Union Island, will know her fate May 5 on charges of cocaine possession, and drug trafficking. At the Serious Offences Court on Wednesday, John, who is originally from Barrouallie, pleaded guilty to possession of 38,707 grams (37.7 kilos) of cocaine with intent to supply. China reopened its embassy in Nicaragua in January 2022, a few weeks after the Central American country switched diplomatic recognition from Taiwan to Beijing.
