The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment was informed this morning by CARPHAof the COVID-19 sequencing results of samples received at CARPHA on July 27th, 2021. One sample detected a variant of concern (VOC) – B.1.617.2 – Delta variant. This sample was collected during entry screening at the AIA from a fully vaccinated traveler who arrived from England with a negative PCR result on July 21, 2021. POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING the circumstances surrounding the death of Jexol Skinner, an Insurance Brooker of Edinboro. A police report said according to investigations, at about 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, Skinner was at a barbershop within Baynes Building located on Granby Street, Kingstown when he allegedly got into an altercation with Barrington Cornwall, a barber of Prospect. Skinner was allegedly stabbed multiple times about his body with a pair of scissors. Fully vaccinated persons will soon be able to collect official photo vaccination cards to prove they have been inoculated against Covid-19. Information and Technology Minister Melford Nicholas told Observer the cards would have security features to “limit the possibility of counterfeit”.
