The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard, on Saturday, rescued two St. Lucian fishermen at sea, about 7.5 nautical miles northeast of Georgetown, St. Vincent. The two St. Lucians are Jean Pierre Charles and Jereon Toussaint. “According to a firsthand report, the SVGCGS received a distress call via Police Control at 1510hrs stating that Fishing Vessel ‘Forward’ with two St. Lucia nationals onboard encountered an engine problem and are drifting approximately 5 nautical miles off Georgetown. The Ministry of Education is issuing a call for one teacher from each school to enroll in a free course on Designing and Developing Online Assessments, scheduled to begin in November this year. The Alert Level at the La Soufriere volcano has been downgraded to Yellow, the National Emergency Management Organization announced on Wednesday. According to NEMO, Yellow alert level means the volcano is restless, seismic or fumarolic activity are above the historical level at the volcano. Activities at the volcano have been low and reduced significantly over the past few months since the last explosive eruption on the 22nd April, 2021.
