Amplified music in public places has been banned with immediate effect in St Vincent and the Grenadines. The Health Services Subcommittee today confirmed another COVID-19 case related to the recent cluster of local spread, bringing the total to six (6). Intensive contact tracing has identified in excess of one hundred and twenty-five (125) contacts of these positive cases. The Cabinet of St. Vincent and the Grenadines on the recommendation of the Chief Medical Officer today announced that all employees of the State are required to wear appropriate masks or facial coverings while they’re at work. This new measure will take effect on Monday January 4th, 2021. Grenada has joined other countries in the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), in pledging support for the Government and people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, amidst signs of increased activity recorded at the La Soufriere volcano. There has been no explosive eruption of the La Soufriere Volcano overnight. La Soufriere continues to have effusive eruptions and magma continues to reach the surface at high temperatures.
