The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), handed over 14,700pcs Taiwan developed COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Tests to the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment here. There is no effort by the authorities monitoring the activities at La Soufriere to hide anything from the public. So said Professor Richard Robertson on radio on January 10. A 26-year-old woman told the Serious Offences Court on Monday she resorted to the marijuana business because of her economic situation. Kendra Lewis, a resident of Bequia, gave the explanation after pleading guilty to possession of 193 grams of marijuana with intent to supply. She had no legal representation. According to Lewis, she had been employed in hospitality sector up to March 2019, but was laid off. The Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA) has completed renovation work on the Bequia Fish and Vegetable Markets. The project saw the repair of the roof, doors, windows and stalls of the markets, along with the repainting of the structures. BRAGSA also installed new water pumps, lines and pipes in the Fish Market, and replaced the toilets, light fixtures, plugs and outlets. The project was carried out at a cost of $105,000. It was done over an eight weeks period.
