PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad — Regional carrier Caribbean Airlines has announced that it will extend layoffs for an additional three months. The period is now set to end on April 15; the original date was January 15. With the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic expected to spill over into the year, the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis has taken the proactive decision to extend nine of the 17 measures outlined in its comprehensive $120-million stimulus package introduced in March of this year. The Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA) has completed a road repairs project in the community of Diamond, South Central Windward. The project saw the resurfacing of 2,700 feet of road from “Daddy Gus” bus shed upwards, along with the construction of 1,133 feet of Slipper and Swale drains. In addition, BRAGSA constructed two retaining walls – a 326 feet long block wall and a 464 feet long rubble wall. The project was carried out a cost of $579,000. It lasted four months.
