The Lowmans Leeward man was on Tuesday fined $9,900 forthwith or ten months in prison for possession of 14,982 grams of marijuana with intent to supply. A man, who professed to be a born-again Christian, was yesterday (Thursday) sentenced to 14 years, 11 months and 19 days in prison, for having sex with an 8-year-old girl. Justice Brian Cottle handed down the penalty at the High Court Criminal Assizes. A nine-member jury had on November 23 found Kawanie Williams, 26, of Green Hill, guilty of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13. Sentencing was adjourned. The annual Christmas Road Cleaning Programme conducted by the Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA) is scheduled to commence on Friday December 4, 2020. The 7-day programme will see the employment of 5,405 persons. These will include 450 gangs, and 905 Jobbers. In addition, over 100 Truckers will be employed.
