The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force have launched a manhunt for Mr. Veron Primus and Mr. Ulric Hanson who were inmates at Her Majesty’s Prison and have escaped lawful custody. Primus was serving a sentence for escaping lawful custody while Hanson was awaiting trial for a series of serious offences including murder, robbery and burglary.Both men are considered armed and very dangerous. A shooting incident last evening at Redemption Sharpes has resulted in the death of a man. Dead is Calimore Edwards alias Shortman who was shot at about 10: 30pm last evening. The deceased originally from Petit Bordel is now residing in Redemption Sharpes. Edwards, a former seafarer was described as a humble guy by a friend and mentor who both worked together in the cruise industry. This is the second shooting death in St Vincent and the Grenadines in 4 days . Edwards death brings the homicide count to 31 for 2020 .

St. Vincent and the Grenadines today recorded three (3) new COVID-19 cases. One case is a returning national who arrived with a negative RT-PCR test result from Canada on Monday December 7, 2020 and tested positive on entry screening for SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19. The second and third cases are American nationals who arrived from the USA also on Monday December 8, 2020. The adults arrived with a negative RT-PCR result, and tested positive on entry screening. The Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA) has completed the construction of a new concrete road on the grenadine island of Bequia. The 140 feet long road was constructed in Hamilton, along with a 38 feet long Box Culvert.The project also saw the construction of a 160 feet long retaining wall.It was carried out at a cost of $88,000.The work was done over a six weeks period.

Police have arrested and charged Kimolorn Spencer, 32 year old Farmer of Green Hill with wounding on 5.12.2020. According to investigations, the Accused allegedly wounded a 43 year old self employed resident of Redemption Sharpes by striking him to his head with a brick. The incidents occurred at Redemption Sharpes about 9:45pm on 28.10.2020. The Accused man appeared before the Serious Offences Court to answer to the charge and pleaded not guilty.
