The Heath Ministry reported seven new cases this morning. This afternoon the Ministry reported eight additional cases. The following is the latest data: Number of samples submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and the UWI site for testing for COVID-19 10,270 Number of samples which have tested positive 225 Number of deaths 8 Number of persons discharged 135 The Ministry of Health provides the following update: Eight (8) additional persons have tested positive for COVID -19. On Wednesday August 5, a 20 year-old South Rivers man, convicted for theft, was sentenced to six months’ probation or must pay $EC1500.00 forthwith or endure six months in jail, if the bond is broken. Police have arrested and charged Nku Foster, 54yrs Security Guard of Green Hill on 06/08/2020 with the offence of Wounding. According investigation, the defendant allegedly unlawfully and maliciously wound an 18-year-old Vendor of Fountain by stabbing him on his back with a scissors. The incident occurred at Kingstown about 5:30 on 04.08.2020. Foster appeared before the Serious Offences Court and pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail in the sum of $1500.00 with one (1) surety. Vincentian Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has announced that his government is ready to “bring some near finality” to the issue relating to monies owed to property owners from whom lands were acquired to facilitate the Argyle International Airport’s near decade-long construction.
