Six persons have been arrested and charged in connection with the burglary at the St Joseph’s Convent
\nMarriaqua and theft of 78 laptops.
\nThe six; Junior Richardson, Kesron Richardson, Ranel Nanton, Michael Thomas, — Pope and a 14 year old
\nstudent appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on Wednesday facing separate charges.
\nJunior Richardson alone was charged for entering the St Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua as a trespasser between April and November 19th, this year and stealing 50 Acer laptops valued at $25,000.00, the property of the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines. He was further charged that knowing or believing 20 Acer laptops to be stolen goods, he dishonestly received them for his own benefit.<\/p>\n
The charges are indictable so Richardson was not required to plea He was granted $25,000.00 bail and ordered to
\nappear before the Serious Offences Court next Monday 26th November, 2018, for a date to be set for the preliminary inquiry.<\/p>\n
He is to report to the Mesopotamia Police Station on Mondays between 8 a.m and 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
The other persons were each charged for each receiving 1 Acer laptop between April and November 19th,2018, for their own benefit knowing or believing it to be stolen. <\/p>\n
They pleaded not guilty and were each granted $1,000 bail .
\nThe student was released into the custody of his mother and is to appear before the Family Court today.<\/p>\n
The other Four (4) are to appear before the Serious Offences Court on November 26th for a date to be set for their trial.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
