The Ministry of Health earlier today announced that two more persons have died as a result of the dreaded Coronavirus.<\/p>\n
Chief Medical Officer Dr Simone Keizer-Beache during a virtual press conference this afternoon said one of the persons who succumbed to the virus is a 60-year old woman from Sandy Bay who died at home on February 8th.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe female, who was known to be Covid-positive, complained of abdominal pains and died. This week, we received confirmation from the consultant pathologist that this death should be ruled as a Covid-19 death even though we had not been able to do a post mortem,\u201d Dr Keizer-Beache said.<\/p>\n
The Chief Medical Officer said that he second death is a 43-year old man who was admitted to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital on February 10th \u201cwith symptoms in keeping with Covid-19 and was confirmed to be Covid-19 positive after admission.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe patient, who had a history of hypertension, became progressively ill and was placed on a ventilator earlier this week.<\/p>\n
However, sadly, the patient died earlier this morning at 9.40 a.m,\u201d the Chief Medical Officer said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Dr Keizer-Beache said the two persons who died last week, although they had Covid-19 their death was not related to covid<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
