The Ministry of Education has announced the results of the\n2019 Grade 6 Writing Competition hosted by the Ministry, in collaboration with\nHodder Education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amara Adams of the Cane End Government School took the top\nstop with her imaginative piece on how she spent a day as an invisible person.\nSecond was Sylique Frederick of the Brighton Methodist School and Jevon McCoy\nof the Pamelus Burke Primary School placed third. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other students who competed in the final leg of the competition\nwere: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Roshanna\n Wyllie<\/strong>\n <\/td>\n Marriaqua Government<\/strong>\n <\/td><\/tr>
\n Christi\n Williams <\/strong>\n <\/td>\n Fancy Government<\/strong>\n <\/td><\/tr>
\n Aroma\n David <\/strong>\n <\/td>\n Richland Park Government<\/strong>\n <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n

The students were exposed to several genres of writing and wrote\ntheir final pieces on the morning of Wednesday January 24 at the Curriculum\nDevelopment Unit. An award ceremony was convened after lunch to acknowledge\ntheir achievements.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the closing ceremony, which took place at the Frenches\nHouse, students received certificates of participation, trophies for their\nschools and other attractive individual prizes compliments Hodder Education.\nThe top three performers also had the chance to read their winning compositions\nto the audience which comprised other students, teachers, principals, parents\nand education officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Close to 40 primary schools participated in the competition\nthis year and the Ministry of\nEducation continues to encourage the active engagement in literacy enrichment\nactivities at both the school and national levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Grade 6 Writing Competition has been\nan annual feature on the Ministry\u2019s calendar for almost a decade and Hodder\nEducation has been a significant contributor. Hodder Education is an\ninternational publisher of educational resources which support the curriculum\nin almost every subject area and at every level.
