The Centre for Enterprise Development Inc. (CED) will roll out\nits 2019 training programme with a Micro Business Simulation Workshop next\nmonth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The workshop takes place February 18 to 26 and will introduce\nthe Board of Directors, members and past members of VincyKlus Inc. to the\n\u201cMicro Business Game\u201d (MBG) as a new tool that will help to improve their\nfinancial knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \u201cMicro Business Game\u201d is a highly interactive training for\nmicro-entrepreneurs and others, focused on how the success and sustainability\nof start-ups and small businesses can be improved in a practical manner. The\noverall objective of the Micro Business Game is to experience how to manage a\nmicrobusiness effectively, using an experience-based approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CED will conduct the workshop as part of the Savings Banks Foundation for International\nCooperation\u2019s (SBFIC)\/Eastern Caribbean Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) endorsed project to support the\nstrengthening of the financial sector and improvement of access to financial\nservices in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) by Small and Medium\nEnterprises (SME\u2019s). The workshop will take place 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the\nBNTF Conference Room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CED Training & Education Coordinator, Miss Keisha Phillips,\nsays participants in this simulation workshop will learn the crucial principles\nof managing a business and how to deal with possible challenges and\nopportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Business Game is an innovative, interactive learning\nexperience that takes away from dry theory. The participants will work in\ngroups, taking on the role of managers and simulating the transactions and\ndecisions of a bank, a micro-finance institutions and a small business. In so\ndoing, the knowledge that they already have is applied directly and expanded by\nsharing experience with the other participants.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Miss Phillips, the MBG workshop will then be\nextended to other micro-entrepreneurs and members of the public when such\ntraining takes place in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In December last, CED exposed a number of stakeholder agencies\nto the MBG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The presentations will be conducted by CED\u2019s Keisha Phillips and\nNisha Glasgow, both of whom have been trained as trainers in the \u201cMicro\nBusiness Game\u201d under the SBFIC project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
