Day 2022; the most momentous day on the Girl Guide calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The theme for World Thinking Day 2022 is Our World, Our Equal Future: The Environment and Gender Equality. Mrs. Laura Browne, Chief Commissioner of the local Association shared that \u201cWorld Thinking Day is celebrated on the 22nd of February every year\u201d. She further highlighted that \u201cThis year\u2019s theme was
\u201cA result of data collection by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On International Day of the Girl 2020, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts asked Girl Guides and Girl Scouts under 18 years from 100 countries what issues they were most concerned about and what they wanted to change about the world. From this data, the number one worry is the environment. And so, the World Thinking Day theme from 2022-2024 will be Our World, Our Future for Girl Guides, and Girl Scouts to become environmentally conscious leaders\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In recognition of World Thinking Day, Bim Bims, Brownie Guides, Girl Guides, Ranger Guides, Young Leaders, AND Guiders wore their uniforms today to mark the special occasion. Additionally, several Brownie packs, Guide Companies, and Ranger Units completed clean-up campaigns and tree planting initiatives across the length and breadth of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, several Girl Guides will present debates on the topic \u201cGirls and women are disproportionately affected by climate change\u201d. The presentation will be aired live on IKTV as well as the Facebook page of
the SVG Girl Guides Association. The participating Girl Guides include Lau Browne, Seant\u00e9 Marshall, Azaria Commissiong, Adia Daniel, and Amara Sterling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The annual Althea Commissiong Brownie Public Speaking will also be aired tonight at 8 pm on IKTV and the Association\u2019s Page and will be on the topic \u201cClimate Change\u201d and \u201cProtect the Environment\u201d are popular catchphrases we hear on the news.
