{"id":3051,"date":"2019-03-19T12:10:30","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T12:10:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/annsvg.com\/?p=3051"},"modified":"2019-03-19T12:10:39","modified_gmt":"2019-03-19T12:10:39","slug":"richland-park-man-jailed-for-giving-police-wrong-name","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/annsvg.com\/index.php\/2019\/03\/19\/richland-park-man-jailed-for-giving-police-wrong-name\/","title":{"rendered":"Richland Park man jailed for giving police wrong name"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Richland Park man who deliberately gave\npolice a wrong name after he was caught stealing agricultural produce at Congo\nValley last week has been sent to prison for the offence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Appearing before district magistrate Bertie\nPompey at the Georgetown Court on Monday, Roneil Bobb pleaded guilty to the\ncharge that on March 15, 2019, at Georgetown, without lawful excuse, he gave\nhis name as Travis Davis, a false name, to police constable 762 Mc Bride when\nlawfully required to do so. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bobb was being interviewed by the police on\nthe matter of stealing a sack of oranges from Grant Connell\u2019s farm on March 13,\n2019, when he gave the false name. Following the interview and charge for the\noranges, he was released on bail. However, police in their investigation\nsubsequently found that the name he provided was false. They made contact,\nre-arrested him and charged him for giving false name. Again, he was released\non bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">District Magistrate Bertie Pompey sentenced\nBobb to one month in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was the second criminal offence that\nBobb pleaded guilty to on Monday. He had already pleaded guilty to stealing 150\noranges from the farm owned by Grant Connell. For that crime, he was fined\n$1,200.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Magistrate Pompey had ordered Bobb to pay\n$600.00 forthwith, with an alternative prison sentence of 6 months in default,\nand the remaining $600.00 in one month with another alternative 6 months in\nprison if he defaults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bobb paid the $600.00 ordered to be paid forthwith.\n\n\n\n\n\n4158584d4c526<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Richland Park man who deliberately gave police a wrong name after he was caught stealing agricultural produce at Congo Valley last week has been sent to prison for the offence.
