The Rotary Family\u00a0 in St Vincent and the Grenadines returned to Union Island on March 30th, 2025 for the final version of the Rotary Village Doctor series in response to Hurricane Beryl. Held during Rotary\u2019s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene month, this initiative brought essential healthcare services and aid to the residents in need.
The Bequia Express Ferry was once again transformed into a floating clinic, where a dedicated team of medical professionals from Trinity Medical Sciences University and local healthcare providers delivered vital services across multiple specialties. Throughout the day, over 130 residents accessed much-needed medical attention. Prescriptions were also filled on-site, thanks to the support of the SVG Pharmaceutical Association and the expert team from Express Health Pharmacy.
The return of the Rotary Free Market was a welcomed highlight, providing residents of Union Island the opportunity to access much-needed essentials with dignity and ease. Over 100 care packages were distributed, featuring a wide variety of items including food supplies, school materials such as notebooks, folders, and bookbags, personal care and hygiene products, kitchenware, clothing, footwear and household linens. These donations were made possible through the collective efforts of the Rotary Family in SVG as well as generous partners and donors. The Rotary Free Market was especially impactful as families continue to recover from Hurricane Beryl, and many beneficiaries expressed heartfelt thanks for the continued relief and compassion extended through this initiative.
Our Rotary family was also joined by several volunteers who took to the streets of Union Island to make their own goodwill contributions to the community, as well as to advise persons of the services and support being provided aboard the Bequia Express.
This edition of Rotary Village Doctor was made possible through the support of several generous sponsors, including C.K.
