Dr. Grace Walters, the Unity Labour Party\u2019s (ULP) candidate for North Windward, has underscored the high standard of healthcare delivery in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), while reflecting on her time as Hospital Administrator at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
Speaking on Star Street Beat with Sehon Marshall, Dr. Walters emphasized that local doctors and nurses continue to deliver care \u201con par with international standards,\u201d even though this is not always acknowledged. She shared that medical professionals in the Vincentian diaspora have praised the level of service provided at Milton Cato, and many nationals overseas have chosen to return home for surgeries and childbirth because of the country\u2019s low maternal mortality rate.
\u201cThe care that our healthcare workers provide is excellent,\u201d she said, pointing to the dedication of the hospital staff and the strong outcomes achieved in areas such as labor and delivery.
Dr. Walters added that feedback from patients has consistently highlighted the quality of treatment offered locally. \u201cOur people deserve to know that the work being done here is being recognized abroad, and that patients themselves see the difference in the care they receive,\u201d she noted.
