Recently, we are hearing the selected few who benefit \u2014 those who lick boots \u2014 shouting \u201cLabour is Working.\u201d But the real question is, working for who? Because from what we see every day, Labour is not working for the majority of Vincentians, especially not for the ordinary people of North Leeward.
For years, Labour has been \u201cworking\u201d \u2014 but only for the same small circle: the comrades, the family, and the friends who continue to benefit while the rest of us struggle to survive.
Across the country, life is getting harder. Prices keep going up, jobs are few, and the cost of living is out of control. The average man works hard every week, and by the time he pays bills and buys food, there\u2019s nothing left. That\u2019s not success \u2014 that\u2019s suffering.
Here in North Leeward, things are even tougher. Farmers can\u2019t get proper access roads, youths can\u2019t find steady work, and too many families are barely making it. The same people keep getting the help, the same names keep getting called, and the ordinary man is left behind.
Look at those who shouting about \u201cLabour\u201d and \u201csix in a row.\u201d They are the same selected few who Labour is truly working for. You see young men who hardly work but living off handouts and public assistance, while the real, struggling man who honestly needs the help can\u2019t get a cent. That\u2019s the truth \u2014 Labour is working, yes, but only for the lick-boots crew, not for the ordinary Vincentian.
After over two decades in power, this government has lost touch with the struggles of real people. Poverty is rising, the cost of living is climbing, and too many families are living from hand to mouth. We can\u2019t keep going down this road. It\u2019s time for real change \u2014 leadership that works for everyone, not just a select few.
That\u2019s why North Leeward must rally behind Shallow. He understands what the people are going through \u2014 the mother trying to make ends meet, the farmer fighting to get by, the youth looking for opportunity. Shallow represents fairness, equal chance, and genuine care for the community.
Change is never easy, but it\u2019s necessary.
If we want a better future \u2014 with jobs, opportunity, and hope \u2014 we must demand it.
North Leeward deserves better. Saint Vincent deserves better.
It\u2019s time to stop believing slogans and start demanding results.
It\u2019s time to stand with Shallow \u2014 and bring real change for all Vincentians, not just the selected\u00a0 few.
