The National Council of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Associations (UK) has expressed solidarity with the people of Jamaica following the recent hurricane that caused widespread devastation across the island.
In a letter issued on November 4th, 2025, Chair Ms. Deiana Stapleton conveyed heartfelt sympathy on behalf of the Council, noting the deep concern felt within the Vincentian and wider Caribbean diaspora for those affected.
\u201cWe are deeply saddened by the loss, hardship, and displacement so many are experiencing,\u201d Stapleton stated. \u201cOur thoughts and prayers are with all affected families, as well as with the emergency services and volunteers working tirelessly to bring relief and restore normalcy.\u201d
The Council emphasized that moments like these remind Caribbean people of their shared heritage and unity. \u201cAt times like these, we are reminded that the Caribbean is one people, bound by shared history, culture, and resilience. When one of us is hurting, we all feel the pain,\u201d the letter continued.
Ms. Stapleton reaffirmed the NCSVGA (UK)\u2019s commitment to standing with Jamaica and the wider Caribbean community through the ongoing recovery and rebuilding process. \u201cWe remain committed to working alongside our Caribbean brothers and sisters to provide assistance where possible and to continue strengthening the unity that defines us as a region and as a people,\u201d she added.
The organization extended its deepest sympathy to all affected by the hurricane and pledged its continued support in the spirit of regional togetherness.
