The Kingstown Baptist Church officially launched its Youth Development and Empowerment Ministry on Saturday, May 16, with an exciting netball and small-goal football tournament held on the church grounds. The event attracted more than 70 young people from across the community, creating an atmosphere of energy, fellowship, and positive engagement.<\/p>\n
Led by Pastor Andrew Dasilva, the new ministry aims to meet young people where they are and provide the guidance, encouragement, and support they need as they navigate the challenges of today\u2019s world. Speaking at the launch, Pastor Dasilva noted that the realities facing young people today are far more complex than those experienced by previous generations.<\/p>\n
\u201cYouth today have to deal with situations and face circumstances that my generation, and those before me, never had to face. Being a young person today is much harder than it was in my time,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that the church is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment where young people can participate in wholesome activities, build meaningful relationships, and receive support in making positive life choices.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want young people to know that they have a place where they can have fun through sports and fellowship, receive guidance, and most importantly, come to know Jesus Christ, the one person who will never let them down,\u201d Pastor Dasilva added.<\/p>\n
The ministry also seeks to work closely with parents, recognizing the important role they play in their children’s lives. Plans are already underway to host parenting seminars and support sessions aimed at strengthening families and building stronger communities.<\/p>\n
