{"id":7977,"date":"2019-11-26T08:27:33","date_gmt":"2019-11-26T08:27:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/annsvg.com\/?p=7977"},"modified":"2019-11-26T08:27:40","modified_gmt":"2019-11-26T08:27:40","slug":"trinidad-man-commits-suicide-after-being-charged-with-wifes-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/annsvg.com\/index.php\/2019\/11\/26\/trinidad-man-commits-suicide-after-being-charged-with-wifes-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"TRINIDAD- Man commits suicide after being charged with wife\u2019s murder"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Trinidad Express, mere hours before he was to appear in court for his wife\u2019s murder, a San Fernando man is suspected to have committed suicide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chamanlal Gobin was found hanging in a cell of the Mon Repos Police Station on Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gobin, 53, of Oropouche River Trace North, Barrackpore, was taken to the San Fernando General hospital where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He had been in custody since Wednesday for the murder of his wife Ramragie Gobin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ramragie Gobin, 49, was stabbed to death at her home at Ridgewood Gardens, Golconda on November 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police said that the couple had separated and the woman had taken out a protection order against her husband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the day she was killed she sent a text message to her daughter telling her that Gobin was on the premises of her home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ramragie Gobin\u2019s son later found her dead in the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police launched a manhunt for Gobin, and on Wednesday he was arrested at an abandoned building near his home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A senior homicide detective said that on Friday Gobin was charged with his wife\u2019s murder by PC Lall of Homicide Region III.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gobin was expected to be taken before a San Fernando magistrate on Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Senior Supt of the Southern Police Division Wayne Mohammed and other senior police officers are investigating.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to the Trinidad Express, mere hours before he was to appear in court for his wife\u2019s murder, a San Fernando man is suspected to have committed suicide.
