Kingstown, 22nd June, 2020/VSM- With anticipation building and many artistes and producers putting their final touches to their 2020 music productions, the organizers of the 1st Virtual Soca & Calypso Monarch competition has extended the deadline for the submission of songs to this Wednesday, 24th June at 6pm.

At its press launch on the 9th June, 2020, it was announced that the song submission deadline would be Monday 22nd June, 2020 at midnight. However according to the promoters, despite receiving a high number of entries, there are still a number of artistes
who have indicated that their songs are still in production. With this in mind, the decision was made to extend the submission deadline. According to Candice Sealey, one of the producers of the event, the listening party (the auditions) which would be broadcast LIVE on STV Online, will still take place this Wednesday at 8pm at Envy Night Club.

The virtual competition which is being produced by Steve Wallace (STV Online), Candice Sealey (Ignite!) and Lester Iroha (Envy NightClub/4th Dimension productions), will see the incorporation of a VIP Zoom experience which includes drinks from Hairoun as well as Digicel goodies. In line with the many innovations of this initiative, persons can pay for their VIP experience through the digital payment solution, Payswif; furthermore, the public also has the opportunity to donate to the event as well as to the artistes through a dedicated web page on the Payswif app (www.payswif.vc/soca) and anyone who donates one hundred dollars or more to the event through the app will receive a complimentary VIP Zoom ticket. The finals of the competition will take place on the 4th and 5th July 2020.
