St. Vincent and the Grenadines recorded a new COVID-19 case today. The new case is an American national who arrived in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday October 14, 2020, from Florida with a negative PCR result, and tested positive on entry screening.

The adult, who went into quarantine after arrival, will continue in isolation until cleared by two (2) negative SARS-CoV-2 PCR test results.

All of the passengers who arrived on American Airlines 945 on Saturday October 10, 2020, were cleared by negative day 5 PCR tests. St. Vincent and the Grenadines has now recorded a total of sixty-five (65) COVID-19 cases, sixty-one (64) of which have recovered. There is now one (1) active COVID-19 case.

This new case from the USA, a country categorized as High Risk, emphasizes the great importance of strictly enforcing all of the protocols, including the requirement of arriving with a valid negative SARS-CoV-2 PCR test result, testing on arrival in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, mandatory quarantine in a quarantine/transition hotel and testing on day 4 or 5 of quarantine.

These protocols are designed to protect all Vincentians and to allow for relatively unrestrained daily activities. As many countries in the world are recording increase COVID-19 activity, these protocols must be maintained and adhered to.
