    Over 8000 more persons employed since 2001 – Gonsalves

    Prime minster said that more than eight thousand more people are employed today than were employed in 2001

    He made this statement last evening during a Rally which was held to celebrate the ULP’s 18th Anniversary in Government in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

    Delivering remarks during the Celebration Rally Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said during the ULP’s time in office they have made significant positive achievements especially in reducing the number of poor people in the country.

    He says the State of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is sound and progress is being made in the interest of the people.

    Prime Minister Gonsalves says since they came into office in 2001 they have reduced poverty from 26 percent to three percent.

    Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves said according to Police Estimates they had more than ten thousand people at Heritage Square for the Unity Labour Party’s 18th anniversary Rally.

    The large crowd also heard addresses from a number of other speakers including Ministers Saboto Caesar, Camillo Gonsalves, Montgomery Daniel and new candidate for Central Leeward Orandi Brewester .
