Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, March 15, 2025 — The Rotaract Club of Kingstown proudly marks its 39th Charter Anniversary on the 15 of March 2025, celebrating nearly four decades of service, leadership, and community impact. As part of this milestone, the club hosted a series of initiatives during World Rotaract Week (March 10-15, 2025), reaffirming its commitment to service and youth development in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
A Week of Service, Fellowship, and Growth
The Charter Week celebrations coincided with World Rotaract Week and featured impactful events, including:
● Visit from District Rotaract Representative (DRR) Rolinzo Huur, from Suriname. Strengthening ties with Rotaract District 7030 and fostering leadership development, DRR Rolinzo shared valuable insights and experiences that encouraged international collaboration and inspired our members. His visit highlighted the global connections that Rotaract fosters and reinforced the impact of our clubs beyond national borders.
● Joint Meeting with the Interact Club of the St. Vincent Girls’ High School and the Interact Club of the St. Martin’s Secondary School. Encouraging intergenerational mentorship and collaboration between Rotaract and Interact members. An opportunity for Rotaract and Interact members to come together and exchange ideas, strengthen our shared commitment to community service and determine areas where we can support each other to maximize our impact.
● World Rotaract Day (March 13th). Celebrating 57 years of Rotaract’s global impact, reinforcing the importance of service and leadership. This day was celebrated with a W.A.S.H. Education Session at the Buccament Government School in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. Promoting water, sanitation, and hygiene education, supported by a generous donation of hygiene supplies including toilet paper and lysol spray from Facey Trading.
● Fellowship. Our club prioritizes fellowship and we take pride in encouraging strong bonds among members. For our fellowship activity we explored one of St. Vincent’s scenic rivers, Pavement, located in the Greiggs community on National Heroes Day. This was an amazing way to engage in fellowship and strengthen our camaraderie while appreciating the natural beauty of our island. We also participated in a Sip n Paint Fundraiser hosted by the Rotary Club of St Vincent in support of the Rotary Foundation.
● Charter Day Celebration (March 15th). Commemorating 39 years of service and community impact as we celebrate our club’s Charter Day. We were able to share this celebration with our District Rotaract Representative Rolinzo and he supported us in pinning and welcoming two new members into our club. Rotaract continues to grow in SVG and expand our reach globally, strengthening our ability to serve and engage more young people in the values of Rotary.
“Our week-long celebration is not only a tribute to the incredible legacy of Rotaract but also a reaffirmation of our commitment to supporting communities in St Vincent and the Grenadines, and beyond,” said Simone Allen, current President of the Rotaract Club of Kingstown.
“We were thrilled to host our esteemed District Rotaract Representative, Rolinzo, from Suriname, collaborate with Interact members, and recognize our generous partners whose donations significantly contribute to our community initiatives and support our mission.
“This week has been a powerful reminder of why we serve: bringing people together, making a difference, and inspiring the next generation of leaders. We are grateful to our members, partners, and the wider community for supporting our journey over the years. We are excited to continue collaborating with our partners and share our experiences by ensuring that our initiatives continue to make a lasting impact.”
