Speaking to Asberth News Network, Dr. Shallow stated, “This is not just about asphalt and gravel. The situation with the road at Cumberland reflects the overall neglect of the people of North Leeward by the ULP Government. This attempted bypass road is nothing more than a symbol of the government’s imprudence and negligence. It is a clear sign of abandonment.”

On Thursday the temporary bridge in Cumberland over flow and caused  significant disruption.

He emphasized that the impact of the road conditions goes beyond inconvenience, saying, “It’s a daily burden on the lives of North Leeward’s constituents and anyone trying to traverse the area. Safe and reliable infrastructure, especially roads, is a basic necessity.”

Dr. Shallow told Asberth News that the government’s temporary fix is simply not good enough. “This quick-fix, temporary solution is simply unacceptable. North Leeward needs a permanent solution now,” he urged. “I call on the government to prioritize resources for immediate work on the main road. The people deserve better.”
